PHOTO OF THE WEEK - LADI KWALI

Happy New Month Lovelies! To think that this is the fastest year ever, wont be a lie! But the good news is, I am hurrying to meet my quarterly blogging target before the "Ember Month" Hope you are meeting up with you goals and target.

I saw this picture on @genevievemagazine Instagram handle, and I thought to share! Here is the caption "genevievemagazine:This is Ladi Kwali, a legendary Nigerian Potter. In 1980 the Nigerian Government invested on her with the insignia of the Nigerian National Merit Award (NNMA), the highest national honor for academic achievement.

Her picture appears at the back of the NGN 20 note.

Sometime last week on Ahmadu Bello Way, I was caught up by a TV station Vox Pop, and I was having fun getting all the puzzles thrown at me by the presenter correctly, until he asked me the "Money Question" I have learnt alot about finances from Nimi Akinkugbe and I never thought I will fail the money question.
This post and the money question is about the great personalities on our Nigerian currency. Isnt it surprising that we spend money without finding time to know who is on the Naira note? If only I got that last question from the Vox pop correctly, as I did the others, I would have walked away with 5000naira. How well do you know your currency? The story and personalities behind the Naira?
Do you have interesting photos from travel locations, Art or any interesting Scene and will like to share, Kindly send as an email to Ujulilyan@gmail.com

  1. Funny enough I don't have a very wide knowledge of the people on the currency I spend each day. Sometimes the question pops up in school examinations or external quizzes and one is left confused over something that should be registered in our hearts already.

I have to learn this ASAP!

STYLE CRUSH- IRO N BUBA BY ONYI ANAX

Nobody can rock Iro n Buba more than my style crush for this week. Good day lovelies. Iro n Buba popularly known as Iro ati’ Buba in Yoruba, originated from the yorubas in Nigeria West Africa and was adopted by many tribes in Nigeria, it was popularly worn by our mothers, but our generation who knows how to revamp fashion has brought back the trend- OLEKU (the short and trendy version of Iro n Buba) and we are giving our grannies a run for their fashion style. Onyi Anax is my style crush for this week; she is an experienced fashion designer in the heart land of lagos

STYLE- ONE SHIRT DRESS,TWO STYLES IN SUMMER X ONE DRESS MANY WAYS

The Climate weather condition we experience here in Nigeria is the Wet and Dry Season. Summer they say is the season between Spring and Autumn, Some say it's the hottest time of the year, but generally all over the world, it is the period comprising of the months of June, July and August. Sorry lovelies, I have been MIA and there is no excuse enough to have blanked out like that, please bear with me. Fashionistas really like to gush about summer because its that time of the year to bring our daring fashion game on, go on Vacations, Summer holiday, Out door Sporting activities like skiing, swimming, picnics and so on. In the summer activities, we like to dressup and bring our fashion game on. The Shirt dress is my favorite go to outfit for summer or any day that isn't cold, it is very versatile, I can style it in many different ways as I did in one of my post HERE . This is how I wore my shirt dress. LOOK 1
