TIPS - 3 EASY STEPS ON HOW I TURNED MY SLIPPERS TO A GLADIATOR FOR CIVIL WAR

Over the weekend, I went to see the movie "Captain America - Civil war" that is how I like to unwind especially when my good friend chommy is in town! The beginning of the movie got me captivated because Marvel did an excellent research of the Scene for Lagos Nigeria. With glimpse of two black men in Nigerian police uniform, Rusty roof tops, yellow buses, Umbrellas, which depicted the Lagos Nigeria market area in the movie, it felt so real!

For once I thought it was Lagos Nigeria, then I realised that it wasn't, because the unusual reaction of the staged passers by did not depict anything close to what Lagosians will do when they see superheroes  flying, fighting and jumping over buses and buildings, real Nigerians  will shout Yay, Ah, Yekpa, Ewo instead of the Wow! and Ow! kind of look I saw in the movie. After the movie, I googled to realize that the Lagos market Scene was staged at a place called the Gulch in Atlanta georgia. Marvel I say thumbs up, great research, excellent work, the Lagos Scene was well invested in. The only problem I had was in the pronunciation of LAGOS, they pronounced it as LAR- GUS, but this ain't a movie review, just go see the movie.
The Staged Lagos Market Scene in Atlanta

Its about my outfit to the movies, especially my Slippers turned sandals, I got compliments from 7 people that day concerning my Supposed Sandals. The only question I couldn't answer was where I bought the sandal. Enough of the story, here is how.

THINGS YOU NEED
- My flat slippers I got from a local cobbler at Lagos Island, it was quite pricey
- Shoe lace from any shoe cobbler, aboki or your old shoe *100 naira for one lace*
- I passed the Shoelace through the visible holes in the Slippers, If you noticed, I did both slippers in different style, You can start with whichever hole you like, just be creative.
- I put my legs in and tied the lace in an upward direction like a Gladiator sandal
- Viola am good to o!

MY FAVOURITE QUOTE FROM CIVIL WAR : "I asked her once how she managed to master diplomacy and espionage at a time when no one wanted to see a woman succeed at either. And she said: Compromise where you can, Where you cant, dont. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right, Even if the world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say NO! you move" - Sharon Carter

  2. I have seen the movie, quite an epic. Although, it had all sorts of humanity savers except Superman. I even heard that Marvel Films have more of such series of movies to come before yearend.

Your creative idea about converting your slippers shouldn't take jobs away from professional shoe and sandal makers o! Every Nigerian business needs patronage at this very moment....Biko kwa!

    Great review, keep it up.
