STYLE - OOTD : POLO AND SKIRT X THE GOOD HAIR

Oh yes! Good hair and I care! What were you thinking? Becky? Did you even get the joke? Are you wondering Why the title of this post? Here is why, If you stay in Lagos Nigeria, you can attest to the Scorching Sun which causes terrible heat. We all know how difficult it is to maintain our weaves, braids, extensions and even our natural hair in a very hot weather condition. The heat can make one sweat and accumulate dirt which makes the hair smell. I also watched Yagazie's youtube video on good hair HERE hence it also inspired the title.

MONDAY RANDOMS - MASS PRODUCTION VS LUXURY X FASHION BUSINESS SERIES

I have been working and planning towards a Graphics Tee line, so when I heard about the #FashionBusinessSeries , I was excited to attend. The Fashion Business Series Organized by Style house file and Heineken Lagos Fashion and design week ,took place last week friday the 16th of April 2016, at the Metropolitan Club VI Lagos, Nigeria. I and Ezinne a fashion blogger,both went together and we almost missed out on the first session because we were looking for parking space *wipe sweat* the venue was filled with lots of Fashion enthusiast, bloggers, media people and almost everyone that matters in the fashion industry in Nigeria. 
Me at the event The First session was thrilling and had the likes of Simeon Capriani CEO of ethical fashion initiative, Omoyemi Akerele founder style house files and Abrima Erwiah of Studio ninety nine, they talked about Manufacturing and Exporting Fashion to the world, it was so insightful with lots of quotes and helpful tips from the panel.

CUISINE - PLANTAIN X BEAN OIL SAUCE

Are you thinking of healthy African foods that doesn't contain carbs? I once shared my GIZDODO Recipe HERE and I got great buzz and views, Then I recently watched Ayo Van Elmar's post on the benefit of palm oil HERE  then I decided to cook and share my Plantain and Bean oil Palm Oil sauce. This isn't a food blog, but I love food! No apologies , I will always share my interesting Nigerian recipes on my blog, Just because I love food! It is a lifestyle blog and my personal blog!



INGREDIENTS: Semi Ripe plantain Onion Salt Pepper Palm Oil African oil Bean Fish (optional) Crayfish Potash (Akanwu in Igbo)


METHOD:
Boil your plantain whole (Some say it is good to boil the plantain with the back, so that you don't loose the nutrient, but I peeled the back of my own and cooked for 5 minutes under normal temperature).

Put little Palm oil in a plate (the quantity that will be enough for your plantain), add little potash, salt, cameroon pepper and crayfish (blended) then stir all together to fo…

The picture below got my attention, I was wondering why Yaga put up this picture until I read her powerful caption, then I thought to myself " Beauty isn't Flawless, it shines through your Flaws" Being a better version of ourselves is important, but we must first learn how to love and appreciate ourselves!
