STYLE INSPIRATION- STILL ON THE KNOTS, IROn'BUBA

Top of the morning beautiful people, am still on the matter o! lol! I am so happy that we Africans, especially Nigerians are learning to embrace their own, not just embracing our own, but doing it stylishly. Here is an outfit i wore on saturday for a wedding, This trend has refused to leave us Nigerians and the westerners are beginning to embrace this style, we have so remixed it, the Iro n Buba style, yes!  I fell in love with this style, when i featured a designer in one of my blog post HERE, I said to myself this is a must have for me when i saw porsh of just porsh do a post on the Iro n'Buba knot style HERE

 Meee

The fascinating thing about this Iro n Buba trend is the fact that any fabric can be used to make it, and the knoting style just added an edge to the style. Fabrics such as SATIN, CHIFFON, VELVET AND MORE can be used to create this trend. Celebrities here in Nigeria and all over the world now rock this trend Iro n Buba knot style.

I used the Chiffon fabric to make mine, if you like this fabric, or want varieties of fabrics, watch out for ethniques market place comming soon on this blog.

HOW TO ROCK THIS TREND
  • A nice chunky pair of neck piece would do, depending on the neck line of the blouse
  • You can never go wrong with a nice strap sandal or pointy shoes.
  • Most importantly a matching clutch, and your good to go.

  1. I like the flowered pattern on the animal prints in your style. I think the trend should be called the Knot.

FEATURED - HANDMAID IN AFRICA:ANKARA CRAFT

I like to celebrate people who inspire others; I like to celebrate Africa, I like to celebrate young entrepreneurs like myself. The last time I was at the 2013 July edition of the LPM, I met an interesting young woman who fascinated me with her works by breaking away from the norm and doing something different. It’s the CEO Hand Maid in Africa, let’s meet her. Nene Aderohunmu is a young woman who is into stationeries such as pencil cups, books, sticky pads, diary, and household decorative like wall frames, picture frames, and jewelry box all made with Ankara and hand crafted by her.
